Academic Projects

I graduated from Full Sail University and obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, I’ve created a variety of projects. From analog game prototypes, full playable analog game demos, and even little video games. Some projects were done solo and some were with a group. I’ve posted my available work including playable versions of those where it is possible!

Project Details:

For the last couple classes at Full Sail University, I created a final project with a small group of other students.

What is It:

Blob Boy and the Castle of Doom is a  2D adventure platformer that focuses on exploration, hazards, and skill.

What I Did:

In the Capstone, I served as the Lead Designer. I ensured the team remained organized, communicated, and followed a cohesive vision. I also designed and scripted camera, health, message, audio, and level manager systems. Being the the lead designer, I organized team communications, testing, and tasks to meet milestones and deliver a polished game.

What I Learned:

In the Capstone Project, I learned many valuable lessons, most of which is discussed in our group postmortem below. To summarize, in order to do succeed in this capstone project, it was important to have effective communication and project management skills to collaborate with a team. It takes an incredible amount of effort, time, reiteration, and testing to create a polished and fun game to play.

Project Details:

For my Project & Portfolio III class at Full Sail University, we were tasked with taking our projects from our Level Design class and combined it with our classmates to have one full playable level. My portion of the level in the video starts at the time 3:32 and ends at 7:33.

What I Did:

Managed team communications and ensured combined levels met a standard of excellence. Designed the 2nd portion of the level through scripting and using some pre-made assets.

What I Learned:

From this project, I’ve learned to collaborate with a team to put a project together. Utilizing Perforce, we combined individual levels into one larger level that met an overarching theme.
